Hello everyone, first and foremost a thousand apologies for being away so long and even more congratulations to you all for everything you've been achieving in the last year. You're all truly amazing and I've missed you all terribly! I hope you're all very well. I've finally managed to get a proper internet connection and a working PC so I'm very eager to return to the fold, I have two fairly major problems though;

1. I've been incredibly stupid and lost my security token key thing, despite putting it "somewhere safe" so I wouldn't lose it

2. I'm on Windows Vista instead of XP now, which doesn't seem to like FFXI too much. Re-installed the whole lot but it refuses to work at all

If anyone has any ideas for me would be greatly appreciated ta. Have emailed Squeenix a few times about the token but no joy. Will be kicking about on Xbox Live as Jarmageddon until I make some headway, hope to see you all soon :)

Hey Jar,

For FFXI on vista you need to download the vista version of POL from http://www.playonline.com/ff11eu/download/media/vista01.html?pageID=media

Once you've got that installed you can install FFXI on top of it.

Hope you get the security token thing sorted out.

Q) What do I do if my security token is lost or broken?

A) Please contact the Information Center immediately.
As soon as we have confirmed that you are the account holder, we will remove the security token settings from the account in question. After the settings have been removed, you will be able to log in without using the security token.

Got that off the official page pal, just a case of ringing up it seems.

We can also get you properly kitted out for abyssea (atma's etc) in about 2 hrs as soon as your online. Just need to have the first 2 aby expansions, 3rd obviously if you wanna have access to everything. We're just waiting for you to arrive bud, chop chop! :P

Thanks a lot gang, will get POL installed when I get home from work tonight and ring Squeenix up tomorrow. Only other thing I was wondering was if I'd lose my Mog Satchel and all the stuff in it if I have to get the token de-activated, could live with that though I reckon if it means I'll be back in the game!

Won't take your satchel away apparently as it's just lost, you'll still have the space. Also you can get a Mog Sack now that can match your gobbiebag so there's another 70-80 spaces for ya lol.

Good news all round, had a slight problem though. Downloaded POL for Vista and updated it, when I try to install FFXI from disc though it says that POL hasn't been installed yet. Anyone encountered this problem before? Going to have another bash and trawl the web for answers

Where did you download it from? EU playonline site? If so, if you're using the US client, you need to download POL for vista from the US website.

Bit of extra gash here, seems most are downloading the wrong client though. The power of google!
