The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the hallowed Crystal, but the menacing empire of Niflheim will stop at nothing to make it theirs. War has raged between the two for as long as most can remember. King Regis of Lucis commands an elite force of soldiers dubbed the Kingsglaive. Wielding their king's magic, Nyx Ulric and his fellow glaives stand before the crown city of Insomnia, fighting to stay the inexorable advance of Niflheim's imperial army. Before the overwhelming military might of the empire, King Regis can only salvage his kingdom by accepting an ultimatum-he must cede all lands outside the crown city, and see his son, Prince Noctis, wed to Lady Lunafreya, the former princess of Tenebrae now captive of Niflheim. As the war of wills rages, the machinations of Niflheim transform Insomnia into an awe-inspiring battleground, pulling Nyx into a struggle for the very survival of the kingdom. King Regis, who oversees the land of Lucis, commands his army of soldiers to protect the kingdom from the Niflheim empire's plans to steal the sacred crystal which gives Lucis its magic and power. To start with, I have to say that this is the first film of the saga I watch, my interest in it began when I played the video game. First I saw it with the thought that the game is a masterpiece, willing to know whether the film was a match for the game or not. I must admit it is ; Takeshi Nozue has done a very good job, and the film is really worth to be seen. I think it must be a difficult thing to do, create a film based in a video game. It can't be easy, but the way in which Nyx, Libertus and the rest of the characters have been developed is absolutely amazing, so good that you want them to have their own game, that way you would be able to play and enjoy it. However, there is no perfect film, and there is a part I didn't like that much. It is the battle between the General and Nyx carrying the ring of Lucii. Everything happened too fast, and there where parts of the fight in which I couldn't distinguish one character from the other.<br/><br/>In summary my opinion of this FF15 film is very positive. I had a great time and I really think it is worth spending a couple of hours watching it specially if you are keen on the video game First 12 minutes? exceptional really awesome fight sequence really setting the kind of universe you are dealing with and the technological level of the time and everything from thereon this is a huge downward slope.<br/><br/>My main gripe with this film is that during the insomnia gets destroyed segment what the hell is going on again? There's no indication of who's fighting what anymore it's a huge demon slugfest with random titan monsters sparring across the levelled city, the last duel between the glaives captain and the protagonist is irrelevant who cares if the general dies? I sure didn't what relevance does that have, why does the princess and some random prince marrying matter at all when niflheim controls the entire world? What are the baddies motives? No indication given. Truly a feast for the eyes here and nothing more and it could have been a trillion times better. The film is, at least, a marvelously enticing advertisement for the upcoming Final Fantasy XV video game.
